The Idea - Pick It Up

Home

There is definitely a need for more volunteers to pick up litter on the side of our roads.  The other day while volunteering to pick up trash, it became apparent that trash is a byproduct of the unhealthy.  We didn’t find many biodegradable products.  We found cigarette butts, alcohol and soda cans and bottles, wrappers from chips and candies, and the like.  This is the predominance of what you find when you walk the sides of the road looking for litter to pick up.  Somehow you don’t encounter leftover fruits and vegetables.

In the world of nutrition, eating healthy never has the concern of biodegradability.  When you eat an apple, celery stick, or even a salad, there is no concern for the environment if it ends up on the ground.  That’s called composting.  It is a natural event.  What came from the earth can break down and go back to the earth.  Yet, when you make poor choices in eating and have a diet that involves gross amounts of marketing and packaging, you are left with the unhealthy option of getting rid of that byproduct.

It comes down to an idea.  You certainly can choose an unhealthy route with natural side effects of chronic pain, poor appetite, low sex drive, obesity, diabetes, lethargy, arthritis, and an overall low quality of life.  This choice doesn’t take much effort at all and is equivalent to opening your car window on the side of the road and throwing your life out the window for someone to find the remnants later.  Or you can choose a healthy alternative which has the natural side effects of a healthy appetite, sex drive, abundant energy, confidence, and an overall high quality of life.  This option rolls the window down only to enjoy the fresh air and some vitamin D on the skin, because there is nothing that needs to be thrown away.

If you don’t have the idea, pick it up.  No amount of volunteers that can pick this up for you.  You have to take the first step.
