Dr. Martin was born and raised in Skagit Valley. After graduating from Sedro Woolley High School, Dr. Martin attended college and played college basketball at Gray’s Harbor Community College and St. Martin’s University. Initial education was a secondary teaching degree, mathematics major and science. . After finishing at St. Martins, the educational journey continued by moving to Davenport Iowa and completing his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Palmer College in 1977.
Dr. Martin has done extensive post-graduate studies and is board certified in DACS, Gonstead, Thompson, Motion palpation, CBP, Activator, Pettibon, Torque-Release, BEST, and Upper Cervical Specific. Additionally, he has training in nutrition, whole food supplementation, diet, and exercise.
After having several chiropractic offices in Alaska, Dr. Martin moved back to his homestead and started Country Chiropractic Clinic in 1988. As his two sons, Dr. Nick and Dr. Nathan, became licensed chiropractors, they, too, joined Country Chiropractic Clinic.
In addition to his commitment to helping people clinically, Dr. Martin is also very involved in his community. Over the years, he has coached youth and high school basketball and has been an active member in the following organizations: Washington State Chiropractic Association (founding member, Board Member, President), Sedro Woolley Rotary Club (Board Member), Burlington Toastmasters Club (President), Skagit Valley Chorale (Board Member), and Fredonia Grange (numerous offices held).
