Have you ever been on the phone with someone and there was a call coming in on the other line? You quickly ask the person that you are talking to if you can put them on hold, in order to answer the other line, knowing that when you come back you can resume the conversation right back where you left off. It works.
Or maybe you are working on a puzzle with the family and the kid's bedtime is getting imminent. So even though you aren't finished, you announce that everyone is going to have to put the puzzle on hold so that tomorrow night you can resume where you left off. It works.
When it comes to your health, however, putting your health on hold doesn't work. Let's evaluate.
You have been working on your physique, putting a lot of time in the gym and on the treadmill to get your body into better physical shape. You have created goals for yourself and you are aiming for them...
You have been working on your nutrition lately and being more focused on getting more fruits and vegetables into your system. You have been focused on eating for nutrition instead of eating for entertainment only. You want a higher metabolism and more energy. You have goals to be healthier...
You have been working on the motion and alignment of your spine through chiropractic care. Together with your chiropractor you have created goals to return your spine to as near normal as possible. You have a schedule of care to help you reach your goals as timely as possible. You want a healthy nervous system...
What happens if you put any of these on hold? Can you just pick up where you left off? Your body will resort to the path of least resistance and slowly and surely return to an unhealthy state of being. You are either working on being healthy or you aren't.
For your sake, never find yourself putting your health on hold. It doesn’t work.
