Tending To The Pond

Blog

While speaking to an acquaintance the other day, he mentioned how passionate he is about his koi pond and the beauty and serenity it brings.  He’s invested a lot of time and money into the creation of this pond.  Taking care of the pond on a regular basis is imperative to his enjoyment of the pond and the health of the fish within it.  It requires maintenance.

He shared that recently the pond had an issue of algae growth.  This green growth along the top of the water affects both the serenity and the beauty of the project.  He shared that the best way to handle the algae is to install a UV light within the filter.  As the water pumps through the filter, it begins to kill the algae growth and restore the health of the water that the fish live in.  He further said that it would take some time for the pond to be cleaned and wishes he could’ve anticipated this problem so he could’ve been proactive about not allowing the algae to grow rather than spending time to restore or fix the pond now that the algae has grown.

Interesting.  Another example in life of prevention and maintenance making more sense than waiting for the problem to arrive and trying to deal with the problem then.

When you visit your chiropractor when pain strikes, in most cases the problem is already established.  The algae is already on the surface of the pond.  By initiating care, you are beginning the process of restoring the waters of your health closer to an algae-free, functioning state.  Remember that your care is about so much more than getting rid of the pain.  It’s about restoring your life to a better functioning state so that you can enjoy the serenity and beauty of a healthy life.

And once you’re there, remember that you have to take care of yourself on a regular basis.  It’s imperative.  You require maintenance.
