To Brush Or Not To Brush?

The dental profession has done a wonderful job at educating the public as to the requirements to maintaining good oral health.  You know the details like brushing, flossing, rinsing, and you even know about the cleanings that should occur every six months.  It mystifies us if someone doesn’t brush their teeth because we understand words like tooth decay and gingivitis.  And it horrifies us if someone decides that brushing is just not for them and opt to only start brushing if they ever have tooth pain and not before then.

I know.  That last one is a little extreme.  After all, no one would take their teeth for granted.  Would they?  After all your teeth are very important for your smile, clean breath, and chewing your food.  We should care about our teeth.  After all if your teeth wears out then you can replace them with...dentures.

There are, however areas of your anatomy that are actually more important in function than our teeth, if you can imagine.  Like say, your spine.

The chiropractic profession has a job before itself to educate the public as to the requirements to maintaining good spinal health.  You know the details like stretching, holding good posture, and even knowing about getting their maintenance adjustments at least once per month.  It mystifies us if someone doesn’t do these things because we understand words like spinal decay, degeneration, and arthritis.  And it horrifies us if someone decides that getting chiropractic care is just not for them and opt to only see a chiropractor if they ever have back pain and not before then.

I know.  That last one was a little extreme.  After all, no one would take their spine for granted.  Would they?  After all your spine is very important for your posture, immune function, and general well-being.  We should care about our spine.  After all if your spine wears out then you can replace it with...
