Change Is In Your Nature

Change Is In Your Nature

Chrysalis. The strange byproduct of a caterpillar preparing for a new stage in life, but getting there takes some work. It meticulously builds the stage. It then has a period of waiting. And then the most amazing event happens after it all...

It can be said that it is a caterpillar’s nature to do this. To take itself from the confines of the dirt and the trees, from being able to only move inches at a time, to being able to span great distances with the greatest of ease. But in order to do that, it requires change.

Change for a lot of people can be tough. You get stuck in the daily routine. Likely you put your pants on the same way every morning. Get use to brushing your teeth in the same fashion. Drive the same way to work. Have the same meals on Thursday. Go to bed at the same time every night. Truth is, it takes work to make any change.

But I challenge you that change is in your nature. Either it will happen when the trauma’s in life strike, like waiting for the death in the family, shift in the economy, loss of a job, let down by a friend, a car accident. None of it you saw coming, but your life and your routine has to change. Sometimes a little. Sometimes a lot. This is not the preferable way to approach change. It hurts.

The other option is to make proactive shifts in your routine. This requires you making choices. But this type of changing usually being by choice are lifestyle choices that should benefit you. Starting each morning telling yourself what your grateful for. Making time to exercise each day. Putting in a garden bed. Eating more vegetables and fruits.  Keep regular with your chiropractic care. Keeping a journal of the days activities. Eating dinner at the dinning room table as a family. You saw the changes coming, because you made the effort to put them there. These are some changes that lead to a healthier existence.

So look at your life. Change by traumatic default, or change by proactive choice. Either way, there is a road that you will travel and change will be inevitable, because change is in your nature.

One path hurts. One path helps. If your willing to put the work and preparation into it then the most amazing event happens after it all...

You get to live through life, instead of suffering through it. Instead of only moving inches at a time, you become able to span great distances with the greatest of ease.

Change is in your nature.
