Find The Missing Brick

Home

A patient currently seeking chiropractic care shared one of her greatest passions: going to Seattle Mariner baseball games. This is what she loves and lives for each and every year. Sitting in the stands, watching the game, enjoying the experience. She stated that even if she had to be wheeled there in a wheelchair, she’d make it happen.

She started care a few months ago because she saw the amazing changes her husband was experiencing. She was sure she was just feeling the deterioration and wear of old age.  But seeing her husband spring back to life the way he was around the house, she was wondering if maybe she just might be wrong, that maybe there might be more life hidden somewhere in this body of hers. She made the appointment.

And she has done wonderfully. Chiropractic has made an impact in her quality of life. She is moving better than she has in years with little to no pain compared to where she was before chiropractic. Her improvement lead to an interesting conversation in our office just the other day…

(Chiropractor) Since you’ve been doing so much better, are you starting to look forward to going back to baseball games when the season gets started this year?

(Patient) I am so excited. I’m looking forward to walking around the park, which I don’t normally do. You have no idea!

(Chiropractor) That’s wonderful! What kind of activities are you looking forward to when you walk through the ballpark with this new body of yours?

(Patient) Actually something that I’ve wanted to do for years, but never had confidence my body could endure the effort, was to look for my dad’s brick. When the stadium was being built, we contributed money to have a brick with my dad’s name on it as a memorial to him. I’ve never been able to look for it. I am looking forward to finding my dad’s brick and making some rubbings of it for family members and myself. That’s what I’m most excited for this year.

It’s stories like this that get chiropractors excited to come to work each day. They get the opportunity to work with lives that have slowed down due to poor joint motion and alignment and, using the skills that they have attained through years of schooling and practical everyday practice, to restore life to people.

Don’t be mistaken. Don’t settle for less. Get engaged with your chiropractic care. Be an active participant in your health care. Everyone has a missing brick they would love to find. It may come in a different size or shape, but it’s there and it’s yours for the search. Make sure you have joints and a body healthy enough to go find it.
